Abstract

Wad Medani society was one of Sudanese literary societies which was established after the failure of the 1924 Sudanese revolution against the Condominium rule ‘the Anglo- Egyptian‘ since its rise in all the fields ,political ,cultural and social the revolution extended to involve the whole Sudan. Politically and through the lecture presented by one of its members there had been the take off of establishing the idea of the Graduate Congress.
the society contributed in all the cultural aspects through adopting and supporting the idea of the literary festival, as well as both the ideas of the education day and the village day. This study, however, aims to explain the reasons behind the rise of the society and cast shadow on some of the activities in the political and socio- cultural ideas which the society had adopted and including the Graduate Congress.
