الكتابة التاريخية في السودان: ملاحظات منهجية ومقترحات نحو تطويرها

Abstract

The Arabic historical methodology and the Sudanese style which is influenced by it have, in most cases, developed similarly and simultaneously due to the exposition of these methodologies to the waves of modernization coming from the European historical writing approaches. The paper traces this development and critically discusses the glimpses of immaturity in the academic methodology of the modern school of historical writing in Sudan. To anticipate the future of historical writing in the Nilotic Sudan, the paper suggests diversification and innovation of subjects of historical research, development of historical methodology, and enrichment of historical resources.
