Abstract

This paper aims at studying the usage of the multiple meanings of the particle “min” in Holy prophetic tradition
guided by the views of Arab grammarians regarding the the usage of “min”. The research adopted the analytical inductive
Applied method by selecting some texts of the Holy Prophetic Tradition and analyse them in order to reflect their rhetorical
functions.The most important findings of this paper are: min is used in all its multiple meanings in the Holy prophetic tradition:
comencement of the limit in space and time, substitute, portion of, assignment of cause , preference, specification of the
general in a way that reflects the eloquence of the Holy Prophetic Tradition. The research recommends that: texts of the
Holy Prophetic Tradition regarding the rhetoric usage of “min” should be included in rhetoric and grammar sylabus.
