Abstract

History is based on the study of mankind's past and the events affecting its path. Therefore, historical writings appeared from
an early age in human history also the Muslims sheared the same things form their early history in this field, since their
interest in Islamic sciences began and their blogging, so they were interested in writing the biography of the Prophet, [may
God bless him and grant him peace] and the news before the mission and the events that followed, and then the science of
history developed for that, benefiting from their methods of looking at the universe, treating the news, the truth of the
narration and the accuracy of deduction, they provided a real addition to the science of history and historical material. The
paper deals with the interest of Muslims in this science. And their efforts in the fields of historical writing, whether they were
about the history of Muslims, general history, or the history of cities or other nations, as well as what they presented about
criticizing the science of history and presenting an early scientific methodology and philosophy. The paper also deals
with examples of those who made major contributions in this regard. In addition to that, the paper refers to the recent
contributions of some late Muslims thinkers to the field of history. The outcomes and results of the paper showed the
contributions of Muslims scholars offering the basic and authentic historical data that can be examined with modern
methodology of history. The paper recommends that more deep studies should be made and the importance of establishing
scientific centers formed from groups of specialists and researchers for the continuity of historical research on the
contributions of Muslims and concerned with developing their methods to reach a scientific approach based on their thought in
this science.
