Abstract

This research deals with The subject of the sources of
knowledge reception in sufism compare to the position of other
Sunnis represented by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al- Jawzi towards
these sources. The method that followed in this study is the
analytical method.
The Research examines the sources of sufi knowledge in the
cognitive reception in which they differed from the rest of the
people of the qiblah namely: unveiling (kashf), taste (dhawq),
ecstasy, inspiration (ilham) , and physiognomy (firasah)
The Research deals with the sufi doctrines and their
understanding of these sources, and The extent of their reliance
on them as legal evidence upon which worship and all religious
practices are based, and The impact of that understanding on
their jurisprudence, which made a great difference between
them and the rest of the Sunnis.
The study concluded with a set of results, including that the
sufis bestow on their inspiration infallibility and holiness; for
they consider these inspirations as the right that cannot be
wrong in any case unlike the sayings of the assiduous Imams
which bear the right and wrong.
