Abstract

The factors behind the decline in productivity in the Blue Nile Agricultural Schemes. This study deals with main physical and human factors which impact productivity of the Blue Nile Agricultural Schemes. The importance of the study emanates from focusing attention on the economic and socio-cultural factors affecting the performance of the schemes. The objective of the study is to concentrate on the main factors which have contributed to the deterioration of productivity in the schemes. A number of research methodologies have been adopted including descriptive and analytical ones. Both primary and secondary sources of data have been tapped, gathered and analyzed using (SPSS). Most of the results of the study indicated a negative productivity since the establishment of the schemes to this day. Most of the problems related to agricultural inputs, irrigation, technical and managerial ones. All these problems have to be faced in a pragmatic way to change the status-quo by improving the financial, administrative and technical conditions. ,
