Abstract

The science of Archaeological Resource Management is considered one of the modern sciences that has emerged
recently - and the Department of Archeology - University of Khartoum is the pioneer of this study in Sudan -
where it originated in the 1970s, and since that time until now it is still concerned with research aspects and
studies related to the protection and preservation of heritage. The department has several scientific research
projects and many academic, social and cultural relations with several local, regional and international bodies
in the field of archaeology. As a result of the combination of these great efforts in several fields and all activities
and aspects related to antiquities, the department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
in Sudan was raised to the rank of a distinct department, and it agreed to establish the “Archaeology Chair”
