This paper will focus on the tethering stones, which can be used as paleo- environment and paleo- economy
indicators. These stones are considered a phased development of the techniques of hunting and can be used as
evidence of the hunting and export a live wild animal from Sudan to other ancient civilizations. Archaeological
evidence from Sudan indicates there are a wide spread of these stones in different archaeological regions and
contexts. The technique of using tethering stones as one of the hunting methods. It is not used for killing animals
but for disabling their movement to arrest or trap the animals alive, and deal with it, either by killing, capturing,
or taming. This advantage, and over time, gives the ability to deal with these animals by hunting, taming and
exporting them. This was clearly in the iconography artifacts, writings, and wall inscriptions in Egyptian tombs
and temples such as Beit Al-Wali Temple, which highlights the ability to deal, taming and export these animals,
this was reflected in the prosperity of the animal trade by Sudanese and people of the southern lands of Egypt.
