Abstract

This research analyzes the problems that beset the interrogative as a rhetorical term. Therefore, it presents the
terminological imbalances that accompany the term and discusses the differing opinions of scholars regarding
the abstraction of what comes out of its tools to something other than what has been defined for it by a term, or
the retention of these tools with the meaning of an interrogative. It also presents the multiplicity of metaphorical
meanings produced by some tools. The scholars disagreed about these meanings, as well as the call to exclude
the subject of the interrogative from the rhetorical lesson. All of this is through Qur’anic and poetic evidence in
which these problems are realized.
