Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of mobile journalism in covering breaking news stories during Sudan's
social transformation period (2018-2022). Through quantitative analysis of data collected from 80 professional
journalists and media practitioners, the research investigates the operational dynamics, professional standards,
and societal impact of mobile journalism in a rapidly evolving media landscape. The findings reveal significant
success in immediate news coverage and comprehensive regional coverage, while highlighting challenges in
information verification and technical infrastructure. The research demonstrates mobile journalism's crucial
role in promoting civic engagement and social awareness, despite facing substantial technical and professional
challenges. Gender disparity in practitioner demographics and varying levels of professional standard
adherence suggest areas requiring development. The study concludes that while mobile journalism has become
an indispensable tool for news coverage during social transformation, its effectiveness could be enhanced
through structured professional development, improved technical infrastructure, and comprehensive legal
frameworks. This research contributes to the understanding of mobile journalism's role in social transformation
contexts and provides evidence-based recommendations for improving professional practice
