Abstract

This paper discusses the economic and social system in the Third Cataract region (el-Mahas), it is one of the systems that has not received extensive study, and these systems are considered the backbone of any political entity. The paper attempts to highlight the most important types of these systems present in the Third Cataract region. What is distinctive about this economy is that it is diverse (agricultural, commercial, craft industries, fisheries, etc. ), in addition to the social system that exists within it. This is because the aim of the research is to introduce these systems, which are useful in our understanding of the interaction between the indigenous people in the study area and the strangers who mix with them.
