Abstract

The goal of this research is to examine the digital short story genre and evaluate its merits and drawbacks within the context of modern critical literary studies. The study explores the novelty and originality of digital content and its active role in narrative texts, specifically in terms of structure, form, and content. It emphasizes the necessity of understanding the impact of digital storytelling across various social media platforms and the internet, as it has become an essential aspect of intellectual life. The research adopts a narrative approach to analyze and understand the diverse texts and dimensions of narrative discourse, incorporating techniques and narrative components. The findings reveal that the digital short story follows two distinct paths. The first path involves inexperienced writers who adhere to traditional narrative conventions, while the second path comprises skilled writers who possess mastery over writing and demonstrate a deep understanding of the essence of the short story. These writers excel in creating captivating art through digital platforms. The study underscores the significance of technical writing conditions, information accuracy, target audience identification, and platform selection in ensuring the success of a digital short story. It highlights the convergence of artistic and narrative elements within this genre, emphasizing the need for their harmonious integration within the story's structure to achieve artistic excellence.
