Abstract

This article aims to explain the kinds of geographical and geological, which Meroitic settlement adapted to. In the Sudan, there are many natural environments landscape components which were also present in almost their current form during the Meroitic period (350 BC_AD 350): The main Nile River and its tributaries including the Atbara River, Deserts west and east of the Nile, and the plains. These helped frame Meroitic settlement places, and the socio-economic development.
