In this research, we discuss the political use of legendary stories in Sudanese theatre, and how the authors of these plays recreated and formulated them in a way that expresses the issues of contemporary man and his position on authority. After introducing myth, its concept, and how writers dealt with it, we then discussed the concept of theater, its origins, and the relationship of myth to theater. We went to the applied study; It was applied to two Sudanese plays: My beloved Nabtaa, by Hashim Siddiq, and The Tragedy of Yarwal, by Al Khatim Abdullah. The research reached a number of results, the most important of which are:Myth has remained a resource for writers in every era-The world of myth is not subject to fixed foundations in reality-Hashem Siddiq recreated the legend of Sally Fohamer in a new guise to express the experience and aspirations of modern man-Al-Khatim Adlan succeeded in creating a parallel text from the story of Yarul- The two plays revealed the misuse of power and the tyranny of the rulers with high symbolism Awareness, knowledge, and the word are the basis of combating injustice and tyranny-Theater remains the father of the arts because of the impact it leaves on people that shakes the throne of rulers.
