Abstract

The study tackled the topic of Abu Ali alFarisi’s multiple views on the single grammatical case‚  through his numerous works on grammar and the opinions attributed to him. The study aimed to uncover al–Farisi grammatical doctrine and his position on scholars‚ particularly Sibawayh; how  he addressed‚ analyzed and explained some Quranic readings‚ were investigated. The descriptive  approach‚ based on analysis and incomplete induction‚ along with description and observation‚ was adopted. The study addressed five different themes and reached several results‚ including the following: this study favored the abolition " lakin" (the lightened" lakin")‚ as it occurs abolished in  the Quranic readings as the stance espoused by majority of grammarians .The study supported the permissibility of placing "an" if it occurs after "kun"(the word "kun"‚ as it does not violate  analogical reasoning‚ in addition to its frequent occurrence in Arabic speech . The study revealed  a glimpse of al– Farisi’s visual tendency in some of his grammatical views
