Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of psychological and social support on the family roles of Sudanese women affected by war. The study belongs to descriptive research and adopted the social survey method using a sample approach, where the effects of both psychological and social support were analyzed independently. Data were collected through a questionnaire applied electronically to a convenience sample of 175 Sudanese women inside and outside Sudan whose family roles were affected by the war. The results showed that psychological and social support have a positive and direct effect on empowering women to perform their family roles, with psychological support being the most influential factor, having a higher mean than social support. The results reflect the participants’ perspective on the importance of this support, and its validity was reinforced using precise statistical tests. The results also revealed no statistically significant differences in the effect of psychological and social support due to demographic variables, including age, marital status, educational level, kinship, or family role. Based on the study’s results, the researcher recommends focusing  on enhancing psychological and social support for women affected by war through specialized programs and organizations, to ensure their empowerment and promote family stability in conflict contexts.
