Online Mechanical Cleaning Method for Crude Oil Heat Exchangers (Heat Exchanger Validation)

Abstract


This work is  part of a PHD research aims to develop fouling online mechanical cleaning technique for crude oil heat exchangers operating at surface temperature as high as 300 degree C. A double pipe heat exchanger was premeditated and fabricated to conduct experimental work; this paper aims to verify the competence and validate the designed heat exchanger. After ten runs under steady state circumstances, using distilled water as a heat transfer fluid in both sides of exchanger, the results revealed that the investigational set up is valid with an efficiency ranging from 95% to 100%.
