A woman has been charged with murder after a collision between a car and a mobility scooter in north-western Western Australia.

About 10pm on Monday, emergency services responded to a collision in South Hedland where authorities found a damaged black and red coloured scooter, believed to belong to the man.

Officers later located a light blue Holden Commodore, with significant front-end damage to the bumper, wing mirror and windscreen, at a nearby address.

The victim, 34, was taken to the Hedland Health Campus for treatment where he succumbed to his injures.

The woman, 32, was charged on Wednesday and is believed to know the man.

She was refused bail and is expected to appear in the South Hedland Magistrates Court on Thursday.
