The paper handles the topic of Engineering Arbitration in Sudan as one of the mechanisms of dispute resolution in engineering contracts, by mentioning parts of the international experience embodied in the FIDIC forms of engineering contracts along with the developments in Sudanese laws associated with arbitration. The paper then summaries one of the
major arbitration cases in Sudan; namely the Social Insurance Towers in Khartoum as an example. Typical reasons that lead to construction disputes, both from international experiences and Sudanese practice, are listed. Having quoted the main constraints facing engineering arbitration in Sudan, the paper concludes by giving some pertinent recommendations to enhance and advance this effective mechanism of resolving engineering disputes.
